On the hunt for Fourth of July Firework shows? Here's some of the best places in the Tri-State area to catch them!
MACY'S FIREWORKS SHOW, NEW YORK CITY
The legendary Macy's Fireworks Show is on the Hudson River - these are some of the prime views in NY and NJ!
West Side Highway - It will be closed for the firworks from 14th to 59th streets, so grab your lawn chairs and head over! The point of access is on 11th ave between 24th and 57th streets.
Pier 54 & Pier 84 - Super close to the view of the Hudson River! Pier 54 is at Little W. 12th Street and the Hudson River, and Pier 84 is at 44th Street. Get there early to grab a spot!
Weehawken, NJ - The best views should come from JFK Boulevard East on top of the cliffs. Kennedy Boulevard East is closed for traffic beginning early afternoon, and open to pedestrians from then on. Lincoln Harbor Park will be open only for residents with proof of residency required.
Hoboken, NJ - Maxwell Park, located on the waterfront at 11th Street to 14th street, is one of the points furthest north in Hoboken and one of the better spots to catch the fireworks. Maxwell Park has a small sandy beach on the waterfront, playground and swings, and picnic tables with an awesome view of midtown Manhattan. There are checkpoints to get through the waterfront.
Sinatra Drive from 1st Street to 15th Street, NJ - Waterfront road with public walkways. This stretch will be closed to vehicular traffic, but open to pedestrian traffic. North Hoboken, especially around 10th and 15th Street has unobstructed views of the fireworks on the Hudson. River Street from Hudson to 1st Street is recommended as a viewpoint.
Jersey City Heights - Take the elevator off the 9th Street Light Rail Station in Hoboken (the light rail leaves from the PATH Station). Riverview Park on Ogden Avenue just 3 blocks south of the elevator has a great playground for hanging out until the fireworks begin. You will probably get a decent, though partially obstructed, view of the fireworks from Exchange Place, which has a fantastic pier and walkway, and amazing views of downtown Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.
You can also purchase tickets to see the Macy's fireworks display from the top of The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum at Pier 86 or at the top of the Empire State Building! For clubgoers, check out Hudson Terrace and The Press Lounge for special viewing packages!
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlantic City - The show is open to the public with the viewing area at the North Expansion surface parking lot and opens at 6:00pm with the show to start at 9:00pm.
Visible for a one mile stretch of the Boardwalk and beach from the new Revel Resort on Metropolitan Avenue to The Atlantic Club on Boston Avenue.
23rd Annual Oceanfest, Long Branch NJ - One of the biggest Fourth of July festivals on the Jersey shore. The festival runs from 10 in the morning to 10 at night, rain or shine, along the half mile stretch of oceanfront Promenade between Seven Presidents Park and the Ocean Place Resort Spa. There will be fun activities, live music, clowns and jugglers, and variety shows in addition to great picnic food. The Oceanfest finale is a spectacular fireworks display over the ocean at 9:00 pm.
