At the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., you can see priceless paintings of politicians, military heroes, titans of industry….and Katy Perry!

Will Cotton's created “Cupcake Katy”, a whimsical painting of Perry which starts a short run at the National Portrait Gallery today. Katy will be in concert in D.C. for a couple of nights next week, so the museum is hoping to get her to come by and check out the painting for herself.

"Cupcake Katy" will be on display until July 8th and again next spring as part of an installation of pop-culture portraits.

To find out more about why Katy was chosen and how the project came together, check out this article in the Washington Post.
