Andrea McArdle: Broadway's Original Annie Now Miss. Hannigan on Stage

On this "In The Wings," Michael Riedel and Christine Nagy talk with Tony-nominated actress Andrea McArdle about being Broadway's original Annie.

She explains what it was like to be the youngest ever to be nominated for a Tony. In the moment, when she lost, Andrea was more upset about not being cast as Dorothy of Wizard of Oz in her school production than she was about losing the Tony. She was so young, it truly didn't phase her. She even states, "if and when I'm ever up for one again, I hope to god a 13 year old doesn't beat me out." Andrea reflects on her time as Annie, "I have such unshakable memories."

Later, Andrea chats about jumping into the role of Miss. Hannigan at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, New Jersey.
