Honey Honey, we have great news about the long-rumored Mamma Mia! sequel. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the hit musical comedy based on the music of ABBA, Universal Pictures is moving forward with plans for a sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Original cast members Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Colin Firth are all in talks to return for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, with other co-stars likely to sign on as well.
Meryl Streep has been lobbying for Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again ever since the first film smashed the worldwide box office back in 2008. ABBA songwriters Benny Anderson and Björn Ulvaeus resisted the prospect of a sequel for a long time, but clearly any reservations they've had have been resolved! The sequel plans to hit the big screen on July 20, 2018. We know that's a little bit of a ways from now, but in the meantime relive one of Mamma Mia's best musical numbers below.
