2018 can't come any sooner, as it is the year we are expecting Cher's musical to hit the Broadway stage! The show will be based off of Cher's life and feature hits from throughout the pop titan's iconic career. Cher took to her Twitter to confirm the exciting news!
A casting noticed revealed that characters dubbed Babe, Lady and Star will represent Cher at various times in her life. A few other figures we can expect to see cast in the musical: Sonny Bono, Cher’s parents, Bob Mackie, David Geffen, Gregg Allman, Robert Altman, Rob Camilletti and, yes, Sigmund Freud.
Jason Moore, who previously directed the stage musical Avenue Q as well as the popular a cappella film Pitch Perfect, will be directing the show. According to Playbill, the show will include Cher hits “I Got You Babe,” “Take Me Home,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Believe” and many others. Tony winner Daryl Waters is the musical supervisor.
