This "Bedtime Calculator" Tells You When Your Kids Should Go to Sleep

Back-to-school season is upon us which means getting the kids back on a proper and healthy sleep schedule. It's dire that kids, no matter the age, get the right amount of rest their body needs before hitting the books. The National Healthy Sleep Awareness Project partnered up with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine to create the Bedtime Calculator, which provides parents with the proper bedtime for their kids based on their age and what time they're waking up the next day.

For instance, the average 5-year-old who gets up for Kindergarten at 7:00 a.m., would need to go the bed before 9:00 p.m.

Your 10-year-old would have to go to bed between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. if he or she woke up at 6:30 a.m. for school.

It's important to recognize that the wake up times only go by increments of 30 minutes, but regardless this calculator is seemingly accurate! Use this calculator to ensure that your children get the right amount of sleep in order to put their best foot forward for a new school year.

Start off the new school year strong and establish a routine that you and your kids are comfortable with. We promise you'll be happy you did!
