Sugar And Spice, But Not Everything Is Nice

Scientists are shedding more light on the link between sugar and cancer.  In a newly-published study, Belgian researchers found yeast with high levels of glucose overstimulated the same proteins often found mutated in human tumors, making cells grow faster.  Tumors grow by making energy through a rapid breakdown of glucose not seen in normal cells.  The scientists say more research is needed to identify the main cause of this effect.

As of yet, there's still no proof that eating a low-sugar diet could change a cancer diagnosis.
