How 9/11 Inspired KOST 103.5 To Play Christmas Music

Today marks the 19th anniversary of September 11th. We'll never forget and will always commemorate what happened on this date in 2001. Today we remember the families of the nearly 3,000 people killed at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D C. We remember the more than 400 firefighters and law enforcement officers who died in the World Trade Center that day and the many more who have died since from the substances they breathed in that day.

After 9/11 everyone felt so bad, so the station thought, "How can we make people Feel Good?" That year is when the programming team at KOST kicked off Christmas music and the official holiday music station was born. It's been a tradition ever since.

As somber as today is for our nation, we pull together as a family and share our stories of the memories of that day. Whether you know someone who experienced a tragic loss, life has really never been the same since. We shared a special story this morning that happened to Ryan Manno a couple of years ago at the 9/11 Memorial and a man by the name of John F. Iskyan who's presence was felt and a connection was made years later. Listen to this special story in the video posted below:
