Coldplay Surprises Fans With Intimate Performance On Instagram

Coldplay got the band together for one very special performance.

On Wednesday (October 14), they band put on a one-off live stream in partnership with Global Citizen and the #EveryVoteCounts campaign to encourage officials to count every vote.

Coldplay jammed for a half hour and kicked off their mini set with “BrokEn” before Chris Martin introduced the band.

“If you're watching, thank you very much,” Martin said. “The reason we're doing this show is because, A) because we can't get a gig anywhere else and B), because on GlobalCitizen.org today we launched a petition asking people in the American election and news organizations not to call the election until all the votes are in, all the votes are counted. Every vote counts, so count every vote.”

Fans are probably used to seeing Coldplay in massive stadiums so it was really cool to see the guys in a small space with just the basics. And naturally, they put on one heck of a performance.

“This is about the same square footage of the place we first used to play,” Martin joked about their practice space.

“This part was absolutely incredible guys! That version of Charlie Brown 😍 shame we lost half of Trouble In Town though! So nice to see you all back together,” one fan wrote while another commented, “Thank you guys for such an amazing live! Even though there were a few lags, it was the best thing that happened in the last few months. ✨ Thank you for everything.”
