Sia Accuses Shia LaBeouf Of Conning Her 'Into An Adulterous Relationship'

On Friday (December 11), FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, citing a "relentless" abusive relationship. Now, Sia is speaking out about her own hurtful experiences with the Transformers star.

"I too have been hurt emotionally by Shia, a pathological liar, who conned me into an adulterous relationship claiming to be single," the singer tweeted with a link to an article about Twigs' lawsuit. "I believe he's very sick and have compassion for him AND his victims. Just know, if you love yourself- stay safe, stay away."

"Also I love you ⁦@FKAtwigs," she added in a second post.⁩ "This is very courageous and I'm very proud of you."

Twigs accused LaBeouf of physical, emotional, and mental abuse during their relationship, which lasted nearly a year, and cited specific instances of trauma in the lawsuit.

“I’d like to be able to raise awareness on the tactics that abusers use to control you and take away your agency,” the singer told The New York Times about why she decided to take legal action against the actor.

“What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in the whole of my life,” she added. “I don’t think people would ever think that it would happen to me. But I think that’s the thing. It can happen to anybody.”

LaBeouf also gave a statement to the publication. “I’m not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel,” he said. “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.”

In the suit, Twigs states that she plans to donate "a significant portion of any monetary damages to domestic-violence charities."
