Here's Why Donations To Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital Are Important

An advocate for children’s health, longtime KiDS of NYU Langone advisory board member and NYU Langone Health trustee Trudy Elbaum Gottesman explains just how important it is to donate to Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital.

As co-founder of the Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care at NYU Langone, Trudy has found that all care is better with robust child and family services, support groups, therapeutic activities for children and families.

Trudy tells Cubby and Christine, “Donations are important because so many of these services that are vital for children are not billable… we have support groups where the children and families are consulted about what would make the experience and care better. Those things are not billable and they are all about giving.”

The Sala Institute for Child and Family Centered Care strives to create an enduring, broad, and flexible culture that promotes extraordinary child- and family-centered care at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital, while inspiring new standards and models for healthcare professionals to practice family-centered care beyond hospital walls.
