Tom Cruise Buys Terminator-Like Robots To Enforce COVID-19 Protocol On Set

Tom Cruise won’t have it with anyone breaking COVID-19 protocol on the set of Mission Impossible 7.

"Tom is so serious about making sure the shoot isn’t shut down that he’s splashed out on these robots as he can’t be everywhere to ensure people are behaving themselves," an insider on the set told The Sun of the two high-tech robots. The robots have been described as "sophisticated and rather intimidating" like the Terminator "only not as violent."

Additionally, Cruise has administered on-the-spot tests to the crew to ensure that they are aware of their status. Shooting on the film resumes this week in the U.K., before the production heads to Dubai, per the celebrity gossip outlet.

As previously reported, Crusie went off on two workers on the set of the upcoming action film and audio of the meltdown was leaked online. "If I see you do it again, you’re f*cking gone! And if anyone in this crew does it, that’s it — and you too and you too!” he aggressively yelled in the audio clip. And you, don’t you ever f*cking do it again!"

"Yes, the rant that came out last month may have been a bit over the top, but he was right, and those who saw the story sympathized with him,” the source told The Sun of the viral incident. "He gets paid a lot for these films but he also knows that he is lucky to be working and staff on the film from top to bottom rely on this film going ahead. You don’t have to go far to see how just how much the pandemic has affected jobs."
