Governor Andrew Cuomo says New York is close to its goal of having 70 percent of the people in the state get at least one dose of the vaccine.
When New York reaches that threshold, most of the remaining restrictions still in place will be lifted.
“Today we are at 69.1 percent. So we’re nine-tenths of a percent away from liberation,” Governor Cuomo said.
New York’s positivity rate has dropped to 0.48 percent. That’s the lowest in the United States.
