Pete Davidson And Colin Jost Bought A Staten Island Ferry

Staten Island natives, and Saturday Night Live cast members, Colin Jost and Pete Davidson have gotten together to purchase a Staten Island Ferry!

According to the New York Post, an anonymous bidder submitted a $280,000 offer for a Staten Island Ferry in an online auction. We have now learned that alongside comedy club owner Paul Italia, Jost and Davidson were the ones who made the bid. Italia spoke with The Post saying the three of them have 'grand plans' for the old ferry. “The idea is to turn the space into a live entertainment event space, with comedy, music, art, et cetera,” he explains, “We’re in the early stages, but everybody involved had the same ambition — not to see this thing go to the scrapyard."

Now the trio have 10 days to tow the boat out of the St. George Ferry Terminal and to a new shipyard to start their work and wait for a long-term location to be found. Bidding on the almost 60-year-old ship began at $125,000 last week. The proceeds from their purchase will go to the city’s general fund.

Jost and Davidson are constantly talking about their Staten Island roots on SNL and in their comedy shows. Davidson even starred in and created the screenplay for The King of Staten Island, which is being called a "semi-biographical" on Davidson's life.
