It's been eight whole years, but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have finally reached a divorce settlement since originally filing.

Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, told Page Six in a statement of the settlement, "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family." Simon added, "This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."

Jolie and Pitt met while filming 2005's Mr. & Mrs. Smith, with Pitt still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time — they divorced that same year. "Brangelina," as they were called by fans and the media, share six children together, Shiloh JolieKnox Léon Jolie-PittPax Thien Jolie-PittVivienne Jolie, Zahara Marley Jolie, and Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt — the latter being Jolie's son who she adopted from Cambodia before meeting Brad.

Brad and Angelina got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot in 2014, however, not long after their second wedding anniversary in 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt. Several years ago, details of a violent incident on a private plane between a now-sober Brad and his children emerged, which happened right before the divorce was filed. Jolie and Pitt were declared legally single in 2019, but have spent their time since then in custody and financial negotiations.
