Childhood Cancer Survivor Reflects On Hassenfeld Experience 20 Years Later

Childhood cancer survivor, Rob Peretta, sat down with Cubby and Christine during our #GoGold campaign to chat about his involvement with Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital.

At just 16 years old, Rob Peretta was diagnosed with AML, an aggressive form of Leukemia, and began treatments at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital immediately.

“I was blindsided… you hear cancer but you never think it can happen to you… What shocked me the most was the way the doctors and staff helped me through it. Almost 20 years later, I still keep in contact with some of my doctors at Hassenfeld… Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital saved my life.”

Peretta thanks the staff for changing his life and continues to stay close with his doctors through his adult life. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and we're going gold for Hassenfeld. Join us and Go Gold: donate here.
