Today is my 58th birthday and I'm in full celebration mode. Sharing my age is nothing I hide from. What I sa growing up was that a woman in her fifties wasn't regarded as someone who was vibrant and could still contribute to society in meaningful ways. Now women in their fifties and beyond continue to dazzle and amaze us, from Jennifer Lopez at fifty lighting up the Super Bowl halftime show to Betty White and Cecily Tyson in their nineties stilI lighting up the screen as actors.
I embrace every moment I have here on Earth. I see celebrating myself as a form of self love that I don't only limit to my birthday, but something I do everyday. When my birthday rolls around, I just celebrate me with other people! How do you celebrate yourself?
