Mom Comes From Jamaica To Bring Child With Rare Disease To Hassenfeld

TracyAnn Ricketts came to Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital in New York City from Jamaica with Grace, her 17-month-old daughter. While here doctors have treated Grace for uncontrollable seizures and diagnosed her with Dravet Syndrome.

While speaking with Cubby and Christine during our Hope for the Holidays radiothon, Ricketts shared, “It was so overwhelming, it was so different. The team at Hassenfeld was so refreshing. They always come in and ask how you are doing - from the nurses to the doctors... They greet you with a smile and ask how they can help you. They ask how you are feeling just to give you a chance to breathe and express yourself while waiting for your child to recover. They implement a lot of actives not only for the child but also for the parents like music therapy!”

Let’s make sure every child gets the care they need at Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital. Please call 1-800-222-1067 and become a Bright Lite or donate here.
