Julie Halston, John Behlmann, and Sarah Stiles Talk 'Transforming Tootsie'

On this Inside Broadway, Michael Riedel and Christine Nagy chat with Julie Halston, John Behlmann and Sarah Stiles from Tootsie. They discuss how the show transformed itself from a 1980's movie to a Broadway Musical.

"The great thing about this Tootsie though is it feels like an original Broadway musical...Robert Horn who deservedly won the Tony for the Best Book really did an incredible job of updating the material, making it fresh... the jokes are very much of today. Remember the movie was from 1982 for many people 1982 might as well been 1782. It's very very empowering to all the characters and it's funny."

Tootsie stars Tony Award Winner Santino Fontana as Michael Dorsey / Dorothy Michaels, Lilli Cooper as Julie Nichols, Sarah Stiles as Sandy Lester, John Behlmann as Max Von Horn, Andy Grotelueschen as Jeff Slater, Julie Halston as Rita Marshall, Michael McGrath as Stan Fields, and Reg Rogers as Ron Carlisle.
