Broadway legend, screen star, and selfless mom; Audra McDonald can do it all! The talented actress/singer stopped by the Lite FM studio to chat about her current, two person show on Broadway, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
Its been a busy couple of weeks for the Broadway community. Following the highly anticipated 73rd annual Tony Awards that took place on Sunday June 9, McDonald explained her mom duties for the night,
"The night of the Tonys was the night of my daughter's prom so my daughter went to the prom and I went to the Tonys and then afterwards she wanted to have the after the prom after party at our apartment. As a mom, you don't want to say no to that because at least you know where your kid is... So after the Tonys I rushed home and then 20-25 18 year olds came over to the house and spent the night and they wanted to watch the sun come up! They were adorable and so sweet but so loud and so I just sat up in my room eating you know my Honey Nut Cheerios and almond milk and the next morning I feel like I was hungover!"
What a great mom! Check out Audra McDonald's full interview with Cubby and Christine above. Get ticketing information for Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune only on Broadway through August 25, here.
