You Now Have To Be 21+ To Buy Whipped Cream In New York

Without people realizing, a new law went into effect in November where people under 21 in New York can not by whipped cream.
In case you didn’t know, whipped cream in the can has become illegal for customers under 21 in New York. This is because whipped cream cans are filled with nitrous oxide, which is often known as laughing gas. Used improperly, the cans can be very dangerous for children. Now stores across the state are requiring an ID when purchasing the product, however some employees still didn’t know this new law existed.
Sponsor of the bill, Sen. Joseph Addabo Jr’s spokesman sent NewsChannel13 a statement saying: “Nitrous oxide is a legal chemical for legitimate professional use, but when used improperly, it can be extremely lethal,” said Addabbo. “Sadly, young people buy and inhale this gas to get ‘high’ because they mistakenly believe it is a ‘safe’ substance. This law will eliminate easy access to this dangerous substance for our youth.”
