Twitter account KFC Barstool released a viral video of a subway rider using their MetroCard to eat their Chipotle bowl... could this be anymore disgusting? Now that MetroCards are set to be phased out by the MTA, how is this rider supposed to eat their Chipotle!?
As of October 2017, it was announced by the MTA that MetroCards are set to retire after many years of use. Beginning in May 2019, subway riders will be able to tap their phone, smart card, or even a debit card to ride the subway.
So anonymous subway rider, say goodbye to MetroCards and maybe think about introducing forks into your life.
