At a concert in Portland on Monday, the day of Petty's death, Coldplay led the crowd in a tribute performance of his hit "Free Fallin'," which had the entire audience on their feet singing along. Lead R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck joined the rockers onstage for their emotional yet uplifting tribute.
