Target is Opening Three New NYC Locations

Are you in need of some good news today? Well if you're like me and have an inexplicable obsession with all things Target, then I have just the news for you. Target is opening three more NYC locations over the next year in the Upper East Side, Astoria, and Staten Island. According to Time Out, this NYC expansion is part of a larger rollout of over 130 small-format stores nationally by 2019. So there won't just be more Targets in New York City, but in your hometown too probably. You can buy heaps of unnecessary items steps away from your apartment and while you're at home visiting mom.

The good news doesn't stop there for all you Targaholics out there. NYC will get an additional three stores by the end of next year, as well, so we should probably just start the campaign to change the city's name to New Target City. Anybody with me on that one? No, okay, nevermind.

These brand new Target locations will all be "small format" style variations of the store, however, the company does plan to roll out four new full-sized locations across NYC by the end of 2019. It's great to have something to look forward to, isn't it?

There are a number of existing Target locations in the New York City area already, including stores in TriBeca, Herald Square, Atlantic Terminal and Harlem. While this seems like a lot of locations already, the truth is there can never be too many Target locations. Jk, Jk. In all honesty, though, if you live on the Upper East Side and need to go on a quick target run, it's not exactly convenient to hop on the subway and head all the way down to Brooklyn.

Whether you love Target or hate it, there's no denying that Target is coming to New York City. Just like they say about Starbucks, soon there will be a Target on every street corner. And there will probably be a Starbucks inside the Target, too.
