Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Reveal Their Co-Parenting Tactic During Lockdown

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are doing their best to tend to their children amid the lockdown and they’re unveiled another approach to parenthood.

During LinkedIn’s digital show Working Together, the actress, 38, shared their method to maintaining their work lives, as well as their responsibilities to their two daughters: Lincoln, 7, and Delta, 5. While Shepard has been devoted his time to his podcast, Armchart Expert, Bell said that she's taken on a majority of the homeschooling responsibilities.

"What we've settled on is that he is always open to allowing me to ask him for help and jumping at the opportunity. So when he comes home, even if it’s just from the upstairs attic, he says, 'Thanks for watching the kids. Thanks for doing the house,'" she explained. "He's not saying that to patronize me. He's saying, 'Thank you for allowing me to go work right now ’cause I know that you’re taking a lot of responsibility in the house, which allows me to go do my work.'"

Nonetheless, there will be moments when Bell needs a break and asks him to take over duties. Yet, even for a loving couple like them, there have been times when she's become nervous to ask him to take on those duties. "I'm a working woman. I’m also trying to be a very present mother, but there is this way we talk about stay-at-home moms," she continued. “Like they don’t do anything and I think that is dead now. That’s gone. That’s over. No one ever will ever think that again."
