KiDS of NYU Langone advisory board member Peter Wunsch sat down with Cubby and Christine during our Hope for the Holidays radiothon to explain how you can get involved with the fund.
KiDS of NYU Langone helps find answers to a simple but profound question: what can we do to make health care better for children and families? This can mean a number of different things such as sponsoring a fun activity from a child life expert who knows how to make a sick kid smile or equipping an operating room with state-of-the-art technology. Or it might mean inspiring an entire institution with a new vision of transformative change. KiDS of NYU Langone has come far from its origins as a small, grassroots organization of doctors, parents, and supporters passionate about improving children’s health.
Wunsch recalls, “When we first joined KiDS of NYU Langone, at it’s inception, the group was interested in so many things even as small as colorful child friendly Band-Aids. We started having meetings zand we discovered that no one at the time was doing anything related to pediatrics. Three deceades later, it’s been a massive growth of parents, pediatric patients, and now we have a children’s hospital where we played a role in as well.”
