Help iHeartRadio and WhyHunger End Hunger in America for Good

Join the 2023 Hungerthon Campaign

Join iHeartRadio and WhyHunger in fighting for everyone’s right to nutritious food through Hungerthon, the annual campaign to raise funds and awareness to end hunger in the U.S. for good.

Hunger is a big, complex global problem. But behind the numbers there are real people who are struggling to pay their bills, fill their tank and get nourishing food on their tables. People who are suffering and need more than a handout. In 2022, more than 44 million people, including more than 13 million children, in the U.S. struggled with hunger. And we know that the reality of hunger today is even higher. While many who struggled with hunger during the height of COVID may have regained their footing, communities hardest hit continue to face disproportionate levels of hunger.

Hunger in America has become normalized. But it’s not ok. WhyHunger co-founder Harry Chapin always said, “when in doubt, do something!” During this season of generosity and gratitude, we hope you will join us and “Do Something” by investing in proven community-led solutions to hunger and creating hope across the nation.

Every year the Hungerthon community - radio personalities, listeners and celebrity supporters, like Bruce Springsteen and Yoko Ono Lennon, come together to help end hunger through exclusive online auctions, social media activation and live radio broadcasts. Since launching over three decades ago, Hungerthon has raised millions of dollars to fuel lasting solutions to hunger across America. Take action to help nourish people in immediate need and address the underlying issues at the root of hunger.

ABOUT WHYHUNGER

WhyHunger funds and supports community solutions to protect the human right to food. In nearly five decades of innovation and evolution, our programs and our grassroots partners in 24 countries have expanded agricultural practices that are better for the planet, helped communities address the root causes of hunger, and ensured access to nutritious food for millions of people. As a grassroots support organization, we stand behind the leadership of the people most impacted by hunger and injustice. We prioritize providing resources to support the rights of communities who have been historically excluded from defining and controlling their food systems. We advocate for workers’ rights and champion agroecological food production that unites science and sustainability with Indigenous knowledge and wisdom. Together we can build socially and economically just food systems that nourish all people and the environment. Visit www.whyhunger.org to join us and learn more.
