Ms. Romano is someone who truly cares about making a difference for her students, especially students on the autism spectrum. She has dedicated so much of her time to helping them work through behavioral challenges and develop social skills so they can better communicate, express themselves, and connect with others.
What stands out most about Ms. Romano is that her work goes beyond what is required of her. She is always thinking of new ways to support her students and make the school a better place for them. She has worked with local businesses to collect donations and organize raffles to raise money for a playground that better meets the sensory needs of the students. She also started a buddy program to help create a more inclusive school community and give students more opportunities to build friendships and connections with one another.
